The best bullpen in baseball…

As of April 18th, the San Diego Padre’s Bullpen has the lowest ERA league wide (1.52), while also giving up the least amount of hits (41), and being tied for the most saves (9), and if you’re curious, yes that felt good to type…

To say the least, through the first 19 games the Pad’s pen has been unstoppable and there isn’t one guy that is the reason for that, our younger guys like Morejon and Estrada being able to keep that composure in RISP situations has been instrumental in that success and having so much range in what those guys throw has been huge.

As a manager how do you gameplan going into the 9th inning after having to face Jason Adams change-up then to have to deal with Robby Suarez pumping 102mph like its nothing?

All of this sets up the starters for success too, knowing that if you aren’t all the way there you have 4 guys that will play shut down baseball to back you up has to be a weight off the shoulders.

Aslong as the Padre’s rely on their bullpen throughout the rest of the season, defense shouldn’t be a problem.
